Dennis Scarr wins Middlesbrough B Level.
The annual Advanced B Level Tournament was held at Albert Park on the weekend of 25/26 June. The weather on Saturday was sunny with a moderate breeze, but by things reversed with a strong breeze and only moderate sunshine.
Handicaps ranged from 0 to 9 with 6 of the 8 players having handicaps in the range 0 to 3.
A Flexible Swiss format with 2.5 hour time limits was used, however the target of 3 games on each day fell short on day 2. Lawn and wind conditions meant that only half of the matches were completed within the time limit.
At the end of Day 1 both Dennis Scarr and Neil Adams were on 3 wins from 3 games. The first round of games on Day 2, however, saw Neil Adams suffer his only loss. Dennis Scarr remained unbeaten on both days.
