The Tyneside Quaich competition returns after a gap of three years

After an absence of 3 years Tyneside CC hosted the ‘Advanced with Bisques Alternate Stroke Doubles Team Championship’ (aka ‘The Tyneside Quaich’) at Exhibition Park on a glorious May day.

Two pairs from each of Tyneside, Middlesbrough and Belsay Hall CC’s competed in two 3-hour timed rounds with the Middlesbrough team triumphing with 3 out of 4 wins. Tyneside won 2 out of 4 and Belsay 1 out of four.

Many thanks to Tyneside for hosting the competition, to Phil Errington for managing the event, and to David Appleton, one of the co-founders of the competition, for presenting the ‘Quaich’ to Middlesbrough’s captain, Andrew Killick.
