This year’s Croquet North GC Open (level play) Singles Tournament for the Turner Goblet was played in warm weather on Saturday 9 September at Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street, the home of Croquet Durham.
There were 10 individual entries from 5 clubs with handicaps ranging from 1 to 7 playing in two all-play-all blocks, followed by a semi-final and final playoff involving the top two players in each block.
In the semi-finals, Peter Tymms beat William Steadman and Phil Errington beat Tony McCann. In the final Phil beat Peter to become the 2023 holder of the Turner Goblet.
